Praise for "Kids Say The Darndest Things...."

I just ran across this blog from the crew of the Shanee and the following entry from Saturday:

Sunday, May 27, 2007 A glimpse of sun. Pictures, Part 2. The sun was flirting with us all day. It felt so great during the few times it poked through the grey. David arrived in the early morning from Anchorage. We worked hard all day on the boat. I mainly spliced lines dealing with the skiff tow bridle. I enjoyed the work. Its very meditative and we listened to some great music. Billy Bragg. REM. KYLIE. Beck. The Finches. Donovan. We also ventured into the Crab Festival for the first time. It never really changes, from year to year. We got fish and chips, fresh caught Kodiak cod. And the annual ice cream stand. $4 a pop, but well worth it. The days are counting down. We still have so damn much to do, and this 3-day weekend slows things down, with many local businesses and boat experts not working. I know we'll get it together though. The highlight of the day was listening to local Kodiak radio. They were doing a "Kids Say the Darndest Things"-type of thing. The host asked the kids "What would you be if you weren't a human?" One kid thought for a long time, and responded, "A Jesus."
More tomorrow!
