Fall is Falling!

Thank you to everyone who helped out on the air and at the State Fair Booth! You guys are awesome! After a quick, unplanned trip to the lower 48 I'm back. My father, thank goodness, is doing well. He gave the family quite a scare but is now on the road to recovery.

There is much to do now tham I'm back. I would love to hear from you, on-air volunteers. Let me know what shows you would like to host. If all our volunteers came in for one or two shifts a month, everything would be covered! Let's do that, call me. 486-3181 is the number to call.

The Annual Membership Meeting is Saturday September 19th at the 2nd Floor Restaurant. Not a member? You can sign up at the door. Mrs. Kim and family provide a wonderful meal for the event, Board Members are elected and reports given at this annual meeting. Come in and learn about your public radio station.

The Run the Rock Marathon takes place on Saturday October 10th. Stop by and sign up for the Marathon, Half Marathon or 5 K. With the cost of entry you get: a spaghetti dinner on Friday night at the Rondezevous, a T-shirt and BBQ after the race at the Golf Cours Club House. Plus the fun of the event and it all is to support KMXT. What a great way to spend the day I hope to see you there. We can also use volunteer help in a variety of ways. Call the station if you would like to help out.

OK That is it for now. It is good to be back and I look forward to talking to you soon!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

KMXT Volunteers are AWESOME! To everyone who did an air shift, came in as a guest, answered phones, manned the Safeway Table, renewed your membership or became a NEW MEMBER of KPBC, THANK YOU!
We couldn't do it without you! We are within a couple thousand dollars of our Spring goal of $28,000, so will be wrapping up the Fund drive soon.
A special thanks to Walt Davis, Ron Sears, The Himelblooms, Eric and Rainey Sundheim, Joe Stevens, Paul Smith, Kim and James Spillane and Paul Kubena for producing some great pitches for the fund drive. It is a lot of fun and I know everyone will want to do some next time :)
When the fund drive is over we will announce the Volunteer host winners of the 5,000 Alaska Airline miles. Thanks again for everything, and if YOU haven't made your pledge to KMXT yet, NOW IS THE TIME!

Sustainability and More!

I hope to see all volunteers here, Saturday May 2nd at 1:00 here at the KMXT Studios for Pizza and to organize for the Fund Drive

We need your support! This Fund Drive's theme is "Sustainability". The Fund Drive starts on Monday May 4th. We have a few pre drive spots recorded but would love more. We would love spots for during the drive, as well as thank yous for after. Stop by the station this week, we can get you recorded and on your way to producing an awesome spot. At the meeting Saturday as well as yummy Big Al Pizza, Fred will have information on structuring your show around the theme, and incorporating great tips and ideas on Sustainability with your pitches. We look forward to educating our listeners on how to help the environment, themselves and KMXT all at the same time!! How awesome is that.
Do you know someone who would like to be a guest and talk about sustainability on KMXT. Bring them in as a guest on your show or call Fred if they want to come in at a different time, to schedule.
There are a lot of volunteer shows open during fund drive week so pick what you want, get psyched and help KMXT "get er done!" :)

The Volunteer Calendar is back on track, if you ignore the first blank squares? I have the weeks of the 27th and May 4th up. Check it out and let me know what show you would like to do.

I really look forward to hearing from you all. Pizza and sustainability, Saturday May 2nd at 1:00 I hope to see everyone here!!! If your not on the air I hope you will record a pitch, answer phones etc... THANK YOU!
