Arizona Visit

I went to visit an old friend from Kodiak, luckily she lives in Arizona so I got to spend some time in the sun. They thought it was cold in the mid 60's, HA! My friend kept apologizing about the cold, she seems to have forgotten what Kodiak winters are like. The top photo is Sedona, where it was snowing, the second Scottsdale, the Cactus is a "Fishhook Cactus" the thorns were literally used as fish hooks and the last a beautiful sunset outside of Wickenberg.

Updated Volunteer Schedule

I am a bit behind the times, with no new blog entries since Groundhog Day. Good grief, or maybe I just liked the pictures so much I didn't want to move them down the page. Yeah, that's it cute Groundhog :) I have updated the Volunteer Schedule and there are lots of openings, so please take a look and give me a call. Im going to write abit about my Vacation as soon as I get pictures loaded. Kodiak is a beautiful place to live but I have to admit it was great to be in the Arizona desert for abit. Lori

It's Groundhogs Day

Matt and Aaron, Hosts of todays Enchanted Island Show, let Kodiak know what Phil had to say this morning. Here is the official word from the official Website

Groundhog .org - the Official Site of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club

Phil Says Six More Weeks of Winter!
Phil's official forecast as read 2/2/08 at sunrise at Gobbler's Knob:

Here Ye! Here Ye! Here Ye!

On Gobbler's Knob on this fabolous Groundhog Day, February 2nd, 2008
Punxsutawney Phil, the Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of all Prognosticators,
Rose to the call of President Bill Cooper and greeted his handlers, Ben Hughes and John Griffiths.

After casting a weathered eye toward thousands of his faithful followers,
Phil consulted with President Cooper and directed him to the appropriate scroll, which proclaimed:

"As I look around me, a bright sky I see, and a shadow beside me.
Six more weeks of winter it will be!"
